conscious-discipline-part-1-620
Join our nursery school director, Ronne Sisco for the first of a four part mini-series on “Conscious Discipline” – a process built on the premise of developing discipline within children rather than applying discipline to them. Discover how to use the latest brain research to help children progress from physical or verbal aggression to calm self-regulation, freeing them to make better choices and empathize with others. “Conscious Discipline” teaches parents and educators skills that teach children the social-emotional and communication skills necessary to manage themselves, resolve conflict, prevent bullying and develop pro-social behaviors.

We will view and reflect on Part 1 of Dr. Becky Bailey’s DVD tutorials entitled “Becoming Brain Smart.” Dr. Bailey leads us to an understanding of the relationship between brain function and behavior – both children’s and ours! This evening lays the foundation for this series that begins equipping us with clear strategies to help children move from the resistant, lower centers of their brain to the more cooperative, higher centers.
